A minor improvement is now available on most Airship DVR Servers:
Full Audio Support
In all Airship DVRs that use 8 channel encoder cards (like the LD Series) we have always had 1 audio channel for every 1 video input. In larger systems that use the 16 channel encoder cards (like the SD and HD) we have had 1 audio input per 4 video inputs.
Starting TODAY, where there is room in the PCI slot rear mounting spaces for the connector, there will be 1 audio per 1 video input whenever possible. This is accomplished by using a separate, wide, blue colored D-SUB connector and a 12-line rainbow-colored BNC connection cable. The audio inputs are numbered to match the video input numbers, so it's easy to match the audio signal to the video input.
Specifically, the 48-channel HD systems do not have room for these connectors, but we will squeeze as many audio connectors in as possible.
Our video compression technology called H.264 makes sure that the audio signal is sync'd to the video perfectly because the audio and video are capture at the same time and processed together — just like professional movies.
And as usual, if you have a specific concern about the number of audio connections available, or any other customization questions, JUST ASK!
PS : Did I mention that the prices are staying the same? The additional audio connections do not affect pricing whatsoever. FREE improvements to our product line — I guess we just really do like our customers THAT much!
