We've always been amazed there hasn't been much standards development in the surveillance industry (We feel kinda alone with our open platform) and so it's nice to see awareness of the need building (Security Director News).

This is a very common theme and one which has stalled the growth of IP in the Security and Surveillance industries for years. My guess is the roadblock will continue until a real heavyweight comes out with a free and open standard. Then all camera manufacturers will have to get in line or get out.
